Mentoring & Study Skills Support

AccessEDU provides mentoring and study skills programmes designed to help students build confidence, improve motivation and develop effective learning habits.

These programmes support students not only academically, but personally — helping them believe in their ability to succeed.

Why mentoring and study skills are essential

Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they lack confidence, structure or direction.

Without the right support, this can lead to:

  • Low motivation
  • Poor attendance or engagement
  • Exam anxiety
  • Giving up when learning becomes difficult

Our mentoring and study skills programmes address these barriers directly.

What our mentoring and study skills programmes include

Our programmes are designed to help students understand how to learn, not just what to learn.

Support can include:

  • One-to-one or small-group mentoring
  • Goal setting and progress planning
  • Time management and organisation skills
  • Revision techniques and exam strategies
  • Confidence and mindset development
  • Support with transitions (e.g. KS3 to GCSE)

Delivery is tailored to student needs and school priorities.

Our educators and mentors are trained professionals who understand the realities young people face today.

We focus on:

  • Building trust and positive relationships
  • Creating safe, supportive learning spaces
  • Encouraging open conversation and confidence

This approach helps students feel understood, not judged.

Supporting students safely and responsibly

Student wellbeing is always prioritised alongside academic progress.

For Schools

Mentoring programmes for schools

We work with schools to support students who may be:

  • At risk of underachievement
  • Struggling with motivation or engagement
  • Lacking confidence in their abilities
  • Facing challenges that affect learning

Programmes can be delivered:

  • During the school day
  • As part of intervention blocks
  • After school or during enrichment time

Students and families

Support for students and families

We also provide mentoring and study skills support for families seeking extra guidance outside of school.

This can help students with:

  • Building consistent study routines
  • Managing exam stress
  • Staying motivated over long periods
  • Developing independent learning skills
